Yet the video exposes the uncomfortable truth.
The current Recorder is fighting in court because the previous Recorder and previous Board signed a private agreement that stripped his office of key powers over ballot operations — all done behind closed doors with zero public input.
Now the consequences are still unfolding, elections are impacted, and the public is left in the dark.
So when Lesko says officials “can’t operate in secret,” she’s right… but the record shows it’s exactly what happened.
The public deserves full transparency on any deal that changes who controls our ballots. No more backroom agreements. No more power shifts hidden from the voters who elected these officials.
Times have changed. Citizens are paying attention, documenting the contradictions, and demanding real openness — especially on anything touching our elections.
